Check more than one source, compare similar vehicles before judging price, and use listing alerts if you do not want to monitor each source manually.
Trade Me Motors
Trade Me is New Zealand's largest marketplace. Listings include private sellers and dealers. Use saved searches and filters (price, location, keyword). Good vans often sell quickly — set up alerts or use a service like Kiwi Campervan Alerts to get notified when new listings match your criteria.
Facebook Groups
Facebook groups such as "NZ Campervans for Sale", "Campervans for Sale NZ", and regional groups have a huge volume of listings. Many are private sellers; response can be fast and prices competitive. Check the group rules and be cautious of scams — always view in person and complete ownership transfer properly.
Dealers and Specialists
Dealers offer warranty, compliance checks, and sometimes finance. You may pay a premium. Specialist campervan/motorhome dealers and Japanese import dealers are worth visiting if you want a curated selection and paperwork handled.
Japanese Imports
Many NZ campervans are ex-Japan. Ensure they're fully complied for NZ (entry certification, odometer verified). Buy from a reputable importer or do your homework on history and compliance.
