Trade Me Motors
Trade Me reaches a wide audience. List under Motors > Caravans & Motorhomes. You pay a listing fee and a success fee when it sells. Good photos and a clear description improve results. Buyers can save searches and get Trade Me alerts — and many also use Kiwi Campervan Alerts, which can surface your listing when it appears on the platform so serious buyers see it quickly.
Facebook Groups
Facebook groups (e.g. NZ Campervans for Sale, Campervans for Sale NZ) are free and very active. List with clear photos, price, and key specs (self-contained, WOF, rego). Many buyers check groups daily or get alerts — listing here gets you in front of people who are actively looking. Post in one or two relevant groups; avoid spamming.
Dealers and Buy-Back
Some dealers buy outright or offer consignment. You get less than a private sale but no listing or buyer hassle. Buy-back operators sell to travellers and agree to buy the van back when they leave — useful if you’re selling as part of a travel plan. See rent vs buy for context.
When to List
Spring and early summer (September–January) see the most buyers. Listing then often means a faster sale. If you list in autumn or winter, you may have fewer viewers but less competition from other sellers. See how to sell your campervan for pricing and getting your van ready to sell.
